Price 1887 - 1969 Born William Henry Pratt in Dulwich, London, Boris Karloff grew up destined for a diplomat's career but rebelled to become an itinerant laborer and actor in the New World, gracing any number of regional stock companies and, at length, finding a secure berth as one of the silentscreen's more dependable character actors.
